About
I’m an aspiring Engineer in heels…with a pen. #dazall
I got inspired to explore poetry after watching a YouTube video on spoken word. It was about the city I live in and I was overwhelmed by how the poets described both the perks and shortcomings of this city in a candid yet vivid manner. I decided that it was time to move from writing mere journal entries, to a more grounded form of self expression. After speaking with a friend about my public speaking/spoken word ambition, I begun to share my poems with her. A couple of weeks before the fall 2012 term commenced, I realized that I still had space for one more class and somehow, I found myself registering for Writing Poetry 301.
Here I am, capturing the most mundane tasks of daily life in stanzas. I hope you enjoy my poems.
If you feel otherwise, please comment on exactly what you think needs more clarity as I sometimes enjoy leaving my readers puzzled due to my open-ended approach. I’ll need your sincere criticism and suggestions to review these poems for my portfolio at the end of the term (3 more weeks). It’s the only way I can grow as a writer, so please join me to make the rest of this 10-week challenge worthwhile.
I am far from being a renowned poet but for now, I’ll be the best I can be. 🙂
